We are a Full-Service Design Studio based in the Washington D.C. metro area.
Our work is primarily in the city center but we frequent the surrounding suburbs in both Virginia and Maryland. Our work also takes us to cities, beach towns and rural estates across the east coast.
Full-Scale Design
We provide personalized service to design your dream living space from concept and rendering to white glove delivery. We handle everything from furniture, lighting, textiles, artwork, rugs, or accessories, and manage communications with contractors to make the entire process come together without you lifting a finger.
Our Process
+ Consultation
We meet with you in your home for a collaborative client and designer working session. In so doing, we are mutually discovering if the project is the right fit for each other. We discuss details such as your goals for the spaces, your design aesthetic, how you will be using the space, what inspires you, your time-frame for completion, and your budget. We try to hit the ground running and give you design input that is unique to your space to help you see the possibilities for your home and how working with us might benefit you.
+ Project Scope & Design Fee
After the consultation we move into an hourly service model. We proceed to outline the scope of work (proposal) for the design portion of the project, the design intent and goals, and the estimated design fee. Once you approve the Design Proposal and submit initial advance of your Design Retainer, this signals the start of the project or holding your time slot for beginning work. Please note that the Proposal is not the same as the design plan or the design presentation. After design hours are fully paid, we begin work towards your design plan and presentation.
+ Site Measure & Trade Planning
During this phase we visit your home and take measurements. This is also where we invite any trades that will be involved in the process for a site visit to discuss the project scope and to take measurements and photos. They will each provide a written estimate outlining their scope of work and the cost for labor and/or materials. These estimates will be presented to you during the presentation meeting.
+ Style Discovery
This is where we review any items that inspire you (your Pinterest board, a collection of magazine photos, etc.). We will start visualizing with basic drawings, a color scheme, key fabrics, and furniture items to identify how to personalize your home and make it uniquely yours.
+ Presentation & Budget Meeting
The Presentation Meeting is a summation of the work in the earlier phases plus any new elements that were agreed upon during the style direction phase and any revisions. Because we believe in a collaboration between client and designer, as well as our trades and artisans, this presentation will address the project scope, based on previous meetings and discussions.
+ Procurement & Design Project Management
Once the design presentation is approved we move into procurement where we handle all orders and finalize all trade quotes. Items are shipped to our warehouse for inspection and storage until it is time for delivery. If trades are involved this is the phase when their work is being done we will support the deisgn vision by working with them to execute the plans with onsite meetings and communications.
